The Blonde Traveler Can’t Travel Hence the Silence

I don’t know where to begin this post. I have been trying to write for weeks but I have been struggling to find words to write down. This is not how I (or you probably) expected 2020 to be going. But, we can’t do anything about it so we just have to try to make the best out of a bad situation. At least that’s what I keep telling myself!

Since coming home in March the days seem to be flying by at an impossible speed. Though most of the past few months have been spent inside, a lot has happened.

Graduation

I finally finished my undergraduate degree after a very weird ending to the semester filled with a lot of Zoom meetings and essay writing. I received my degree in the mail a few weeks ago and I was super happy to close another chapter in my education career. I graduated from Glendon College – York University with an International Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with French Specialization with Honors. If that isn’t a mouthful I don’t know what is!

Starting in September I am starting my next chapter at the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University to become a French teacher. I am so excited (I mean counting down the days excited) to be going into a program that I am so passionate about. However, COVID seems to be ruining a lot of things, including the start of my semester. Until at least December, I will be taking my classes and living at home.

Room Renovation

Back when I came home in March you may have seen a post about my clothing reorganization. Well I have continued organizing and I just finished a mini room renovation due to the fact that I am going to be home for a while now. I purchased a new desk chair from Wayfair but I didn’t want it to be too matchy matchy with the rest of my room so I got in a green/gray color and I love it! I also made a bed skirt out of an old painters drop cloth that we had and I am super happy with how it came out. All I have left to do it change out some of my hangers on my clothing rack and then I will be finished! I also am looking into getting some smart light bulbs that connect to my Alexa if anyone has some recommendations!

Nash

For those of you who don’t know my sister Ivy has a puppy named Nash. I am looking after him this summer and I have to say I am a tad bit obsessed with him because he is seriously the cutest thing ever. If you want to check out more cute pictures follow him on Instagram @nashtheminiaustralian

I hope you are all staying safe and having a good summer so far! Keep your eyes open for a new post coming soon about my #noshop20 and thanks for reading ❤

Love always,

  1. Hi beautiful Libbey! Your room looks great!! Good job!

Of course congratulations on both your graduation and more future schooling. I’m so proud of you! You’ll be teaching before you know it.

Hang in there – as we all are! ❤️

PS. You forgot to mention your accomplishment at beating your Mom at golf! 😬

    1. Wow I really missed the mark on that topic! For anyone reading these comments, for the first time in my life I beat my mom golfing (mind you she wasn’t having a great day) but hey a win is a win right?!

  2. Awesome job on the room. Continue to move mountains girl!! You’re going to rock teachers college 😊🌟

  3. Congratulations on a job well done! You have a bright future no matter what you do especially with your “mouthful of a degree.” You are so fortunate to have done so much travelling prior to COVID-19. I think this is just a bump in the road, so enjoy doing school at home. Your room is adorable along with your sister’s puppy. Again, congratulations on your graduation.
