Genuine: authentic, real, actual, original, bona fide, true.
One month of travel, time, thinking, and touching words have allowed me to find my happiness. An authentic, true happiness. So this past month has been insane. I got to go back to France, then spend time with family for the holidays, and then travel to Mexico. I am so grateful for the experiences I got to live and do during my break from school.
France:
What an absolutely amazing feeling to be back in a country that is so close to my heart. Just to give hugs and laugh in person were such memorable moments that I will cherish for a long time to come. My days in France were filled with family, food, and lots and lots of champagne. I stayed with my Mamie and Papi while there, and to see all of their grandkids, who have changed so much in the past two years was an amazing feeling. Kids who could barely talk, or even walk for that matter, running into my arms to give me kisses. I did not realize how much that exchange changed me as a person, and I will never be able to thank everyone who was part of my exchange enough.
While I was in France I got to go to Paris for a day all by myself. How many 18 year olds can say they went and toured one of the biggest cities in the world alone? Well I did it, and it was amazing. Talking to locals, shopping, eating, and drinking; it was a day that I am never going to forget.
Mexico:
What an awesome vacation with family! A trip that was filled with many laughs, sunburns, lots and lots of coconut ice cream, and love.
I learned that sometimes you just have to trust that God has a plan and your purpose in life will find you.
Love,
Libbey Jean
